I transfer this Law which I, Nichiren, have propagated throughout my
life to Byakuren Ajari Nikko. He is to be the High Priest for the
propagation of True Buddhism. When the sovereign takes faith in and
preserves this Law, the High Sanctuary of Honmon-ji Temple must be
built at Mount Fuji. You must wait for the time to come. This is
what I call the actual Law of precept. Above all, my disciples and
believers must observe this document.

Nichiren (Signature)
The ninth month of the fifth year of Koan.
The order of the heritage of the Law is from Nichiren to Nikko

Document Transferring
The Law which Nichiren Propagated
Throughout His life
Gosho, p. 1675

Can there be any question that neither the Prime Minister of Japan nor the
Emperor of Japan have taken faith in the Daimoku? Some external event will
have to trigger their desire to do so. There is also no question that these
same people have knowledge of what NMRK is, but refuse to move away from the
Shinto tradition that did so much damage just a short 50 years ago..

In theory, in democracies the people are the "sovereign".

But Japan still maintains a monarchy. And Koizumi could not stay away from
paying his "respects" (??) to graves of "heroes" of the past. Maybe he
thought the rest of the world was not watching. Apparently he sure caught
the full attention of the Chinese and Koreans, who are plenty pissed off
about it.

Spain is a democratic socialist parliamentary monarchy. Nonetheless, the
soveignty rests with the people, just like in Japan, regardless of what
their prime minister's acts of respect or lack thereof are. Note how the
people of Spain, a monarchy, ousted José María Aznar for kissing Bush's butt
and putting Spanish soldier in harm's way.
